Fishing

This page will document all existing Fishing features. Prepared by Nolan

Skyblock Season 2 has added an entirely new Fishing system, which is not immediately easy to understand. This article will try to explain Skyblock Fishing. Using outside sources of information for Cultivate's Fishing is not encouraged, as information is scarce and possibly inaccurate or old.

Custom Fish

There are over 100 different Custom Fish that are available to be earned on Skyblock. These have varying characteristics, and can all be viewed in the Fishing Codex. The Codex is a visual collection of all of the custom fish that are available to be earned within Skyblock, and be accessed by doing /fish codex. When fishing, you are able to earn regular fish, Custom Fish, and MCMMO Treasures.

Here is an example of a Custom Fish!

Pictured above, a Custom Fish has many different factors which make it unique from other fish. These are:

  • Tier: There are 6 tiers of Fish currently, which are Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, Platinum, and Mythical. The tiers are used to determine rarity and worth, whether that be in terms of money or entropy.

  • Weight: The weight of a fish is determined when it is weighed with a Scale. The fish that is pictured, has not been weighed yet. If the weight of the fish is considered to be "above-average", then it will sell for more money than the base price.

  • Biomes: Some fish can only be caught in specific biomes. If this is the case, these biomes are then listed on the fish and within the Fish Codex. If they are able to be caught in all Biomes, then the fish will say, "All Biomes".

  • Price: The price of the fish is based on tier. Custom Fish can only be sold in the /fish shop GUI. These are currently set at the following:

Special Fish

Special Fish is a feature within the Fish Sell Shop (/fish shop) that lets you sell a specific fish type for a boosted value. The fish that can be sold is randomized, and changes once every 6 hours.

Entropy / Fish Gutting

Entropy is a currency that is earned from fishing up Custom Fish. This currency is used to craft Augments, and can also be used to remove Augments from a Fishing Rod. You are also able to earn Entropy by gutting Custom Fish. This is an exchange where you will give up Custom Fish in exchange for entropy. You are able to gut fish by using the /fish gut command, and placing your custom fish into the GUI. Normal fish cannot be exchanged for Entropy.

Fishing Augments

Fishing Augments are similar to Custom Enchantments, in that it is an entire system dedicated to giving new and exclusive abilities to Fishing Rods. There are currently 12 Augments available to users in game. All information about them can be viewed with the /fish augments command, however some will be displayed here as well. Augments require completion of certain quests to craft.

How to Craft Augments

  1. See what ingredients you need and that you meet all crafting requirements, by checking /fish augments.

  2. Once you meet all requirements, put all of the items in your inventory.

  3. Obtain a cauldron, place it down and fill it with water.

  4. Drop all of the items into the cauldron, and then Left Click it with a Fishing Rod. You must use the exact amount of items needed for the crafting recipe. If you use more, it will not work.

  5. It will then drop an Augment!

How to Apply Augments

  1. Obtain an Augment by following the "How to Craft Augments" Tutorial.

  2. Next, go to the /fish augment GUI. Place the Fishing Rod and the Augment into their respective slots. You can find these slots by hovering over the Books in the menu.

  3. Once the items are placed into the GUI, simply press the Lime Glass Pane which says, "Confirm Augment"

  4. Take the Fishing Rod out of the GUI. It will now have the Augment applied to it!

MCMMO Treasures

In Skyblock 2, MCMMO Treasures have been rewritten to reward players with random, useful items when fishing. These items are sometimes given in combination with fish, or on their own. This provided a way to add certain items into the game in a less linear way, rather than just adding them to the Item Shop. As your Fishing MCMMO skill increases in level, you will have a better chance of receiving higher tiered treasure when fishing. Below is a list of existing treasures that can be fished up, and some other additional information about Cultivate's MCMMO Treasure implementation (last updated 11/13/2020).
